Olivia Plant

I am an accredited cognitive behavioural psychotherapist and chartered psychologist. I work with a range of psychological presentations including depression, low self-esteem, and with anxiety disorders such as OCD, GAD, social anxiety, health anxiety, specific phobias, and PTSD. I have a particular interest in working with medically unexplained symptoms and long-term conditions. My main therapeutic modality is CBT, but I also incorporate elements of acceptance and commitment therapy, compassion focused therapy and schema focused therapy into my work. I am also in the final stages of completing my training in eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing therapy (EMDR).

Alongside therapy, I am involved in clinical research and consultancy. My research and consultancy work focuses on developing treatment frameworks for pathological apathy in neurodegenerative disease and in the utilisation of digital platforms to optimise cognitive health.

As a therapist, I believe in working collaboratively when helping clients understand and tackle their difficulties, utilising practical and personalised solutions. I ensure that therapy is always tailored to the needs of the client and focuses on helping them achieve their therapeutic goals in a warm and compassionate environment.

Outside of the therapy room, I am an avid reader, film fanatic and love spending time with family and friends.
