Anxiety, which comes in many forms such as panic, social anxiety and worry. I work with tried and tested CBT models working with people to understand ways in which both thoughts and behaviours can maintain anxiety, using this to develop new understanding and more helpful behaviours. The initial assessment takes a holistic approach looking broadly at lifestyle factors which may impact negatively on anxiety and considering more helpful alternatives.

Eating problems including Anorexia and Bulimia and issues often related to food related difficulties such as low self-esteem, unhelpful styles of perfectionism and body dissatisfaction
Obsessive compulsive disorder and body dysmorphic disorder
Family difficulties often related to communication issues or intergenerational factors.
I enjoy helping adults, young people and families’ overcome challenges that they face in life and I am always impressed by the courage and creativity that they show in solving their problems. Throughout my work my aim is to highlight the person’s and/or families’ strengths, resourcefulness and their unique skills and characteristics. This not only helps with the immediate problem with which they are struggling with but also wider aspects of their life. I strive to empower the people that I work with and to assist them in making the most of their lives.
Beyond my clinical work I have 3 children so I have some experience of the ups and downs of being a parent and the difficulties, which children can face at times. I am a keen cyclist, practice meditation and yoga regularly. I also enjoy reading, gardening and I am a passionate bread maker.
